Environment Preservation
Through its activities, especially in Altamira, the Program is convinced that its research activities contribute to the preservation of the conservation areas in the municipality, collaborating with the dissemination of knowledge about the conservation strategies and the biodiversity found in the region. The qualification of professionals able to deal with issues related to the problems faced by the Amazon society, as well as the environmental impacts caused by companies and large enterprises that exploit the natural resources existing in the region, is seen as one of the major contributions of the program outside the environments academic environments.
